Dinner etiquette

QUIZ: Can you pass this French dinner etiquette test?

Are you  à l’aise at the French dinner table, chomping your food down while spouting opinions about politics and playing footsie under the table with someone you’re not married to? Or do you become dumbstruck with anxiety whenever you hear the dreaded “à table!”, terrified you’ll make some dreadful faux pas? Take this actually pretty difficult test to find out if you’re exactly as awful – or brilliant – as you suspect.

This was really well done! I got 7 out of 10. I’ve been to restaurants where the cheese was served just before dessert (part of the prix fixe) and was a separate course and also when it’s offered as an option instead of a sweet dessert. I hesitated on a few questions — not a fan o foie gras or pate so I guessed! Got them both wrong. ;0(

Well done, 7/10 is the highest score so far! Glad you enjoyed it. Maybe the cheese answers are a bit misleading… I was thinking of dinners in someone’s home where (in my experience anyway) it’s always served as a separate course but I wasn’t thinking of restaurants. I think I’ll take out that option. I didn’t know the answers to the glasses questions and only knew the foie gras one after my French colleagues (jokingly) mocked me for not know the fork rule. It’s a complicated business!

The glasses question was interesting, as was the one on champagne.
Got them both wrong and I’m a wino lol.
    Great quiz….
